                                                          WEEK 10 DATE :  15 /12/2023 TIME :   7:00 am / 11:30 am LOCATION :   Nursery  and  pineapple plot INTRODUCTION: ( RANDING OF PLANTS, HARDENING OFF AND TRANSPLANTING ) - This week, our task was to trim the long grass in the pineapple plot so that it appears clean and open. Next, we also replant trees, trimming the main branch and putting it in a polybag that has been previously filled with soil. OBJECTIVE :  - Identify those that are showing signs of disease or infestation. - To guarantee quicker and more effective pollination, make sure the plants are the same size and quality.                                                                      WEEK 9 DATE :   8 /12/2023 TIME :   7:00 am / 11:30 am LOCATION :   Farm INTRODUCTION: (PRUNING OIL PALM) -  This week, we were given the task of cutting dead palm fronds by manual and by machine.  We were taught to trim palm fronds as close together as we could without causing harm to neighboring bunches, fronds, or coconut trunks.  This will help to prevent the tree from being overly bushy and facilitate fruit picking.                                            WEEK 8 DATE :   3 /12/2023 TIME :   7:00 am / 11:00 am LOCATION :   Nursery INTRODUCTION: (BUDDING AND GRAFTING) -  This week, we used the budding technique of propagation. An exact copy of the parent plant      is created through a type of reproduction known as a bud or bud graft. We use rubber                saplings for this budding technique. We cleaned and weeded at the nursery after finishing. OBJECTIVE :  - T o increase the number of better trees. - To  make the tree stronger.                                               WEEK 7   DATE :   24 /11/2023 TIME : 7:00 am / 11:00 am LOCATION : Nursery INTRODUCTION: (CONTROL OF WEEDS, PESTS, AND DISEASES IN NURSERS) -  This week the weather was cloudy and rainy, we were not able to spray pesticides but we were briefed on the correct way to use pesticides by the lecturer. Various pesticide application techniques and various forms of killing were explained to us. OBJECTIVE : -   We need to avoid pest attacks so that the financial loss of production is not too great. In addition, ensuring plants get enough nutrients to help prevent disease, bug and weed attacks.
